Our showroom on coveted Walton Street has undergone a huge revitalisation to ensure a retail experience that encourages aesthetic imagination, embraces the digital, and uniquely showcases our kaleidoscopic approach to interior design. The ultimate stage for design discovery.
Whilst keeping close to the tradition of theatrical and exploratory design, of which the showroom has always been quintessential, we have added new digital features, injected vibrant colours and created a more open-plan feel. It is a modern reinterpretation of Aladdin’s cave, juxtaposing old world charm with the surprise of the new.
Amongst the soft, limestone brick of Walton Street, Andrew
Martin now stands strikingly in smoky charcoal with new brass
lettering above a double window frontage. The glass doors are newly
recognisable by achingly smart, triangular brass handles with the
'AM' etched in black, mimicking our diamond logo. Two flags fly
high on either side of the shop, printed with the colourful
supergraphic by British artist Charlotte Posner.
We have expanded our floor space by 500 square meters to display
our new furniture and accessories range in larger, more dramatic
room sets. This included adding a whole new shop window, giving us
more space to craft creative window displays.
Stage lighting is suspended throughout the showroom,
highlighting different room sets and creating a clear journey
through the shop. This is punctuated by quirky digital
installations, such as an infinity mirror with our 'logo in lights'
inset into the floor and pillars with scrolling LED quotations from
the likes of JFK and Mohammed Ali. These read motivational neon
messages, permeating subliminal positivity into the design
experience. Running along the back of the showroom is an animation
wall, where abstract forms swirl with mesmeric fluidity in time to
music. Elements of the supergraphic come to life with videos of the
culturally iconic moments that inspired this artwork.
