Brindisi

Explore the Puglia inspired collaboration from Andrew Martin and renowned interior designer Sophie Paterson

Taking its cue from the handsome town of Brindisi and its surrounding landscape, this artful collection, comprising 34 serenely coloured cushions with luxe trims and fringes, captures the delicate beauty and understated grace of the Adriatic Coast. "Drawing inspiration from the rustic charm of southern Italy, the collaboration mixes Andrew Martin's adventurous traveller spirit with the cool elegance and effortless sophistication of Sophie Paterson Interiors," explains Martin.

With colourways reminiscent of weathered limestone buildings, dusty olive groves or freshly baked focaccia, a base of neutral sandy tones is given depth from accent colours such as tan, celadon and dusty pink. This gives the collection a timeless quality that can easily be incorporated into any interiors scheme. Alongside textured weaves and velvets are a selection of designs evocative of the area's unique architecture. Ostuni's batik style block print emulates the Romanesque essence of the eponymous old town and the ornate details that decorate its elegant cathedral.

While the rocky coastline that forms sparkling sea caves and towering limestone cliffs is depicted in the haphazard lines and shadowy shapes of Apulia's ikat style print. The assorted patterns, textures and colours of the cushions are designed to effortlessly intermingle. As Sophie explains: 'It was important to me that the cushion designs and palettes could be combined and would work well together' and she suggests an asymmetric arrangement of five cushions to accessorise a large sofa, using textural contrasts such as plain velvets behind linen prints.
